Hello and welcome to another quarter, friends! Here we are once again, planning the new quarter. I like making quarterly goals that basically have no deadlines except to get them done in the next three months. Why do I do this? I find that when I make goals without deadlines, I am much more likely to accomplish them, because I don’t have the stress of missed deadlines and can complete them in whatever order I feel like.
First, let me recap what my Q1 goals were and we’ll see how well I did!
2019 Q1 Goals
I have a number of goals that I have set for the first quarter of 2019. I like making quarterly goals that basically have no deadlines except to get them done in the next three months. I find that when I make goals without deadlines, I am much more likely to accomplish them, because I don’t have the stress of missed deadlines and can complete them in whatever order I feel like. So here’s my first quarter goals:
- Write 2000 words per week, every week. This goal is nice because it is specific but also extremely flexible.
- Finish the 3rd Draft of Utopian Melody. This was the big writing goal to complete, with 50,000 words left to write at the start of the quarter.
- 3 wedding-related goals. I am planning a wedding in September, and needed to get Caterers, Photographers, and to finalizing clothing.
- 6 fitness-related goals. I had three weight loss goals and three recipes to learn.
Out of 11 Q1 goals, I managed to complete 6 of them!
Now let’s take a look at my goals for Q2 of 2019.
- Write 2000 words per week, every week. Again, can I just say how nice this goal is because it is specific but also extremely flexible?
- Finish the 2nd Draft of the first part of my currently untitled Children’s Multiverse story. I had an idea for this several years ago, and basically jumped right in with it, banging out an awful first draft whose plot was a disaster. I’m shooting for 40,000 words.
- 3 wedding-related goals. I am planning a wedding in September, and need to get someone to marry us, a hotel or yurt rental, and to finalize decorations.
- 6 fitness-related goals. I have three more weight loss goals and three more recipes to learn.
There are a total of 11 goals for Q2.
