2021 Q3 Goal Recap

Hello Lovelies, and welcome back to the blog. We’re ending out another quarter, so it’s time for another goals recap post.

If you remember from last time, I set some goals at the beginning of Q3. As a refresher, they looked like this.

Now, my Trello board looks like this.

Let’s go over it in more detail.

Writing – 30/68 Goals Completed – 44%

I didn’t have specific goals lined out for this at the beginning of the quarter. Mainly I wanted to work on my worldbuilding project and work to connect the dots between each of the different stories and races that fit under this worldbuilding umbrella I had created in my mind. If you don’t already know what I’m talking about, you might check me out on TikTok where you can find my pretty face and hear me talk about this entire thing.

Also on the TikTok, I talked about how I started a new project. I’m calling it fringe project to this worldbuilding project stuff in that it wasn’t originally intended to be part of the worldbuilding but there’s no real reason it can’t be so long as I don’t mess up my own headcanon. The working title of the new project is FATE of the WORLD, and as you can see, I have some scenes outlined and started writing it at the end of this month.

Business – 0/0 Goals Completed – 0%

I didn’t set any specific business related goals this quarter, but I do usually always leave this category on my goals list so that I have it there when I need to do things that are business related.

Marketing – 24/26 Goals Completed – 92%

The one post I missed this whole quarter for both my podcast and my blog was due to my cat’s death in August. I am on 30 episodes of the podcast, and if you are interested in listening to the blog post as a podcast episode instead of reading it weekly, you can find the Hello Lovelies podcast on every major podcasting place, including Spotify and Apple podcasts.

Travel, Training, Meetings – 1/3 Goals Completed – 33%

My local writing group is called Westword Writers and they generally meet once a month at the library during a weekday. I only made it to one meeting this quarter because I couldn’t get away from my real day job in order to go. Sometimes I have enough coverage at work to swing it on a weekday, but we have been short staffed and it hasn’t been possible.

Quarter 4 Overall – 55/97 Goals Completed – 57%

I enjoy seeing actual hard numbers because sometimes I think I’m doing well and I’m not, or sometimes I think I’ve done poorly, and I haven’t. This quarter was definitely one where I didn’t think I would get much done. I didn’t have very well-defined goals, and the goal lists were sparsely populated. Yet looking at the numbers, this quarter hasn’t been terrible. I can honestly say I am excited to start Q4 and see what the end of the year will bring.

Discussion Questions

  1. How often do you set goals and how often do you check in with them?
  2. How was your quarter?
  3. How many goals did you set and how many of them were you able to accomplish?
