Hello Lovelies, and welcome back to the blog. We’re ending out another quarter, so it’s time for another goals recap post.
If you remember from last time, I set some goals at the beginning of Q1. As a refresher, they looked like this.

Now, my Trello board looks like this.

Let’s go over it in more detail.
Writing – 37/104 Goals Completed – 36%
I am writing this post on the 21st, so while there may be one or two more items obtained in this category, this is basically all the progress I have on this project this quarter. Mainly, I read through the original draft of the first book in the Multiverse and Me children’s science fiction series, currently titled Eternal Inflation, and I also started outlining my next draft of the novel. I currently have nine scenes outlined.
Business – 3/3 Goals Completed – 100%
As I mentioned in the goal setting post, I wanted to put one new thing up for sale in my Etsy Shop if for no other reason than it forces me to think of new products that can help writers, and because it keeps me talking about my products on my blog. Like everyone, Etsy has raised their prices recently, and while some of their practices have been less than fair to the people using their seller platform, I feel like it’s still worth it for me to not have to figure out opening my own online shop at this time.

January – 2022 Social Media Content Calendar

February – Printable Daily Task Sheet

March – Printable Affirmations for Creatives

Marketing – 26/26 Goals Completed – 100%
So far this year I have not missed posting a blog post or a podcast episode. I’m not sure there’s much more to say about that, except if you’d prefer the blogs in audio format, you should definitely check out the podcast and subscribe. I post the podcast episode on the same day the blog post drops, so you won’t get one or the other any faster. You can find it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts and other places, so definitely go check it out.
Travel, Training, Meetings – 0/3 Goals Completed – 0%
I’ve been really stagnant on going to my local writing group meetings. I think I’ve missed something like three quarters worth of meetings in a row. I don’t always like to go when I have nothing to share, and right now I definitely am not in a drafting phase. I also (sort of) started another writing group with a few of my longer-distanced writing friends over Discord because I legitimately need some accountability. Still, no goals met is no goals met.
Quarter 4 Overall – 66/136 Goals Completed – 49%
Overall, while some categories were knocked out of the park, others were not realistic. I have over 100 goals in the writing category because I stupidly listed out almost every step I’m going to need in order to take the first book to publication and instead of putting that aside on one list and just grabbing the few goals I wanted to focus on, maybe 40 or so, I left them all there.
Percentage-wise, the numbers make the quarter look worse than I feel about it. I got quite a bit of work done without stalling out or being overwhelmed with both my actual day job and the blog/podcast upkeep. While the numbers aren’t awesome, I feel pretty good about what I was able to accomplish in the first quarter of 2022.
